Micaela Knudsen is a Certified Social Worker. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master of Social Work. Prior to that, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She has a background in residential treatment working with neurodivergent youth with Autism and the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as a background in trauma work with experience with first responders, substance abuse, and justice-involved individuals.
Micaela is deeply committed to supporting diverse communities, with a particular passion for serving minority populations. She believes that therapy thrives when it acknowledges and respects the unique cultural contexts, experiences, and systemic challenges that shape an individual's well-being. She strives to create an accessible and understanding space where the nuances of their experiences are not just heard, but truly understood and valued.
At the heart of her therapeutic approach is a profound desire for genuine and authentic connection. Micaela believes that true healing begins when clients feel safe enough to be 100% themselves, without judgment or the need to censor. Her role is to foster an environment where you can explore your innermost thoughts and feelings, knowing you're fully seen and accepted. She holds a strong conviction that each individual possesses an incredible capacity for growth and resilience; often, the power and wisdom you need are already within you, waiting to be nurtured and brought to light.
