Melissa graduated from Rocky Mountain University with a Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree. She has an additional Master's Degree in School Counseling from Utah State University and has worked with children and teenagers for the last thirteen years. She understands the universally life-changing power of being seen, heard, and understood. She is committed to honoring everyone’s journey and keeping the counseling space safe and collaborative so we can figure things out together. She relates well to others and finds joy in discovering ways to help people feel, heal, and deal. She believes in the transformative power of self-compassion and human resilience. She will be by your side, supporting you and believing in your strength and ability every step of the way. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, cognitive dissonance, faith transitions, relationship conflict, ADHD, social skills, trauma, suicidal ideation, grief, self-harm, vulnerability, and boundaries.
Melissa is a firm believer in the power of the counseling relationship. She’s been the client before and knows the difference it makes when a therapist listens to you, genuinely believes in you, is not judgmental, and meets you where you’re at. She is committed to empowering her clients, developing resilience, identifying strengths, and fostering lasting change. She knows there is no humanity in perfection - life is about connection and working through things together, and she would love to do that with you.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys reading, being in the sunshine, going to the beach, taking naps in her hammock, and making memories with family and friends.
