Mathew Edvik

Mat Edvik is a Certified Social Worker at the Greenhouse Center. He earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from Grand Canyon University in October 2024. Mat provides therapeutic support to children ages 4–11, adolescents, young adults, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges.

Before transitioning into social work, Mat spent 20 years in teaching and school administration. This experience gave him a deep understanding of the developmental, emotional, and relational needs of children and adolescents, which continues to inform his therapeutic approach.

In his work with children, Mat draws from his training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, creating a safe and supportive environment where children can express themselves and process experiences through play. With teens and adults, he works collaboratively to identify evidence-based approaches that best support their goals. Mat is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)®, a brief and effective method that helps clients process distressing memories and experiences.

When he is not working, Mat enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. His natural curiosity leads him to explore new ideas, experiences, and perspectives.
