Sam graduated with her Master's degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She believes that therapy is a very individualized experience and that the client should have the space and time to find what styles and therapeutic processes work best for them. Sam especially enjoys working with children, particularly those who have experienced trauma and come from difficult backgrounds. She believes that attachment, trust, and safety are at the forefront of healing and change being able to occur.
Although Sam has worked with individuals of various backgrounds and challenges, she is especially experienced in treating youths with trauma, anxiety, and depression. She uses therapetuic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Sand Tray, Neurofeedback (NF), Talk Therapy, and will be working toward being EMDR trained/certified soon.
Neurofeedback Trained - Othmer Method/Cygnet, Alpha/Theta, and Synchrony training. Her neurofeedback experience and training cover autism spectrum, ADHD/ADD, behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, headaches, migraine, impulsivity, mood swings, traumatic brain injury, and PTSD.
In Sam's free time you will find her baking yummy treats, crocheting, doing ballet, reading a good fiction book, watching a baking/cooking show, and traveling somewhere warm and sunny. Sam loves plants (especially succulents), spending time with her family, and going on adventures with her husband.
