Gwen Skeen
LCSW | Therapist
From an early age Gwen has had a passion for learning, sharing that knowledge and helping others. She serendipitously discovered the merging of all those passions while earning her Bachelors Degree of Family Studies from Weber State University. Receiving her Masters Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University was a dream come true for her in taking her passion of helping others to the next level of helping others find their individual path to healing.
Throughout her career in social work Gwen has taught parenting and healthy relationship classes, advocated for children in the reunification process, and worked with women fighting addiction. She believes if there is magic in the world it is found in the relationship between a child and a parent. Her focus is on how trauma affects relationships including the one we have with ourselves. Gwen is EMDR trained and utilizes the therapy modalities of talk, client-centered, play, sand tray, art, CBT and mindfulness to assist clients in moving towards their goals. She enjoys working at The Green House Center where she has the honor and privilege of working with humans of all ages.
Gwen’s greatest accomplishment and joy is in her marriage to her best friend and in the raising of her four beautiful and talented children. She recognizes the value and need for self-care AND she practices that belief by enjoying nature, reading, napping, watching movies and laughing.
