Daniel Hilton
AMFT | Therapist
Daniel's technical skill set, systemic mind, and empathetic heart converge to bring his clients a safe harbor to process and overcome life's greatest challenges.
His path into a career as a therapist has been shaped by unique experiences within his family of origin, including: severe mental illness, addiction, suicide, trauma, and divorce. Knowing the strain that can be felt by a family, Daniel is passionate about promoting strong bonds within families and marriages. As an attachment therapist, his ultimate hope is to serve distressed couples recovering from the effects of addiction. Daniel uses various modalities to treat addiction and betrayal trauma, and is most passionate about: EMDR, Internal Family Systems, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Existential Therapy & Faith Integration. He also references Joseph Campbell’s “Hero’s Journey” to facilitate self-exploration and growth.
Daniel has been actively working with clinical populations since 2016. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies from Brigham Young University, Daniel received his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University. During his graduate studies he also received a certificate in Addictions Counseling. Although his graduate studies have concluded, Daniel identifies as an ‘eternal learner’, always reading good books like Beyond Order by Jordan Peterson or Atomic Habits by James Clear. He enjoys listening to podcasts heavily-focused on philosophy, therapy, culture, and current events.
As a native of St. George, Utah, Daniel loves the red rock of his hometown, and the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. He is passionate about achieving difficult goals, and has ran six marathons. His greatest joy comes from his family, and he often says that “True love is sacrificing to help others achieve their fullest potential.” He has been married for six years and has two children.
