Troy was born and raised in Colorado and moved to Utah in 2015. He moved to Utah to be closer to friends, family, and to enjoy the amazing outdoor opportunities and destinations that Utah has to offer. Troy became interested in helping people achieve their goals and overcome personal and relational struggles at a young age. While debating if he wanted to be a teacher or a therapist as an undergrad student, he gained the desire to join the mental health field. He gained this desire while working as a developmental para-professional and through the influence of great professors. Troy received his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University and has been providing therapy for individuals (children, teens, adults), families, and couples ever since.
Troy is certified in Adlerian Psychotherapy, PREPARE/ENRICH pre-marital and couples counseling, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. He enjoys working with all populations, but is especially passionate in working with individuals that are experiencing relational distress, sexuality/intimacy concerns, faith transition/faith crisis, and grieving. He has experience working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, loss, transitions, and trauma.
Troy enjoys spending time with his family and friends, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, and learning about other cultures and faith systems.
