Jessica enjoys working with children, youth and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns. She has worked with at-risk youth with a history of suicide ideation and attempts, children placed in DCFS custody, and individuals seeking support for LGBTQ issues. She completed an internship with HOPE4UTAH, a statewide youth suicide prevention program, during her Bachelor of Social Work program at Utah Valley University. She completed internships at The Division of Child and Family Services and at The Green House Center for Growth and Learning during her Master of Social Work program at the University of Utah. She is an active member of the LGBTQ Affirmative Therapist Guild of Utah, National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Utah County HOPE Task Force, and serves as a member of the Pleasant Grove City Crisis Team, "PG HOPE."
Modality of Practice: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Neurofeedback, Art & Sand Tray Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, Theraplay, Trauma-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TB-CBT), Brief Therapy, Mindfulness and is interested in receiving more training on Animal Assisted Therapy and Positive Psychology in order to bring a greater sense of healing to clients who are working through past and present trauma.
Jessica grew up in Provo, Utah and has enjoyed the experience of living out of state for many years. She is happy to be back near the mountains, living along the Wasatch front with her husband and daughter. She enjoys yoga, gardening, mountain biking, hiking, meditation, and music.
