<p>-          Trauma’s impact on children</p>
<p>-          Tools for dealing with trauma</p>
<p>-          Therapeutic resources available for foster children</p>
<p><strong>You will be taught to:</strong></p>
<p>-          Understand a child’s severe behaviors as attachment related</p>
<p>-          Use reflective responding to regulate a child’s emotions</p>
<p>-          Practice over 50 different suggested nurturing strategies and activities</p>
<p>-          Use the &#8220;level system&#8221;, behavioral charts, and other disciplining tools with compassion</p>
<p>-          Articulate the effect of trauma and mediate the effects of post-traumatic symptoms</p>
<p>-          Advocate for your child’s therapeutic needs and team more effectively with therapists</p>

<li style="text-align: left;">Participating in good sportsmanship and team work</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Increasing listening skills</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: left;">The class will be taught by Stacey Nichols, MSWi, and will run for 8 weeks.  There will be two separate groups &#8211; one for young school-age children (3-6), and one for older school-age children (7-11).  For young school-aged children, the class will start Wednesday, June 15 from 10:00am &#8211; 11:30am, and will continue every Wednesday until August 3.  For older school-age children, the class will start on Thursday, June 16 from 10:00am-11:30am, and will continue every Thursday until August 4.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The cost for per class is $37.50.  If you have a foster child in your home, talk to your caseworker to see if you can receive special funding to fund the course.  If your child has Medicaid, we can run the cost through them.</p>
